how to VirtualĀ

We're excited for you to join Vie's virtual fitness training! Anyone with an internet connection can participate, and getting set up is easy. We'll walk you through it here, and you can always email us with any questions.

Here's what do do after you've purchased virtual access and registered for your first class, or scheduled your first privates session with your trainer:

1. Install Zoom

After registering for your first virtual class or scheduling your first private session, you'll receive an email with a link for a Zoom webinar or meeting. Click the link and follow the prompts. If you don't have Zoom installed, you'll be prompted to download and install it (if you care to, you can explore and set up Zoom ahead of time here). Don't worry about joining the class prior to it starting to test things out; you can simply click "leave meeting" when you're satisfied and the link will still take you to your class when it's time.

2. set up your space

Think about where in your home you want to participate from. You'll need a bit of space to spread out, a good connection to the internet, and, perhaps, a nearby outlet to power the device you'll be joining the class with. Of course you'll want a mat for Pilates, and your bike for Spinning. You may also want a couple of two-pound weights for Pilates, and some water and a towel for any of the classes.

3. Optimize Your Experience

Some things to think about for creating the best experience:

General

  • Make sure your internet speed is sufficient (> 5 Mbs) where you plan to participate. You can test your internet by typing "speed test" into Google or going to speedtest.com.
  • Use headphones if you can. The instructor and music will sound better, but it's fine if you don't.
  • Use the largest screen that you can. You can use any internet-connected device (e.g., desktop, laptop, tablet or smartphone), but of course the bigger the screen, the better. Many televisions these days are also internet-connected or can display the screen of another device.
  • For Mat Pilates it's important to position your camera properly if you care to receive personalized feedback on your form. Please ensure that the camera captures your whole mat and body during the class.
