Sydney Sullivan

Sydney is a sophomore at the University of Michigan and is pursuing a dual degree in Anthropology and German. She grew up traveling the country as a part of a military family and it sparked her passion for adventure! She is always on the go but always has time for a good yoga session. Outside of work and school you can find her either hammocking in the Diag, searching for the best coffee in Ann Arbor, or hanging out in art museums.

Tamara Stevenson

Tamara “Tami” Stevenson recently completed her PhD in Molecular and Integrative Physiology from the University of Michigan. As a runner, she has always had a passion for health and fitness. Tami has run six marathons, including Boston in 2011 and 2018, and she BQ’d for the upcoming 2019 Boston Marathon. She is also a volunteer assistant coach with the Saline High School Women’s Cross Country and Indoor Track team. A series of running-related injuries led her to barre at Vie Fitness in early 2015, and with the help of barre she has been running injury-free since! With her coaching background and awareness of human physiology, Tami’s Barre Intensity classes are designed to not only challenge more advanced students, but motivate and help newer clients reach their fitness goals.

Tim Veeser

Tim has been a Vie client since it opened in 2004. By day, he is a corporate lawyer and his legal advice helped in Vie’s startup. Off hours, he is an avid yogi and spinner. Tim’s passion for fitness and a balanced lifestyle started in law school, when he took his first yoga classes at the university gym (way before it was cool). He has been teaching yoga around Ann Arbor since 2004 and at Vie since 2014. He also attended Vie’s first spin class and loves the low-impact, high-intensity cardio that pairs so well with yoga. He recently completed his certification and is very excited to get up on the stage bike and lead spinning.

Tracy Mistry

Tracy’s passion for movement and fitness coaching has evolved throughout her life. She has worked for over 20 years as an Occupational Therapist, helping people rehabilitate their bodies, integrate their nervous systems and maximize function in their daily lives.

Tracy discovered Pilates when she was recovering from a lumbar disc injury following the birth of her second child.  After exhausting a multitude of unsuccessful rehabilitation avenues, she found Pilates to be the key to re-balancing her body and allowing her to resume her life activities and fitness pursuits.  She was so impressed by the tremendous impact it had on her body in terms of strength, flexibility and whole body alignment and posture, that she decided to pursue a Pilates certification and share it with others. Tracy loves that Pilates is accessible to all ages and fitness levels. She brings a holistic understanding of anatomy, body mechanics, and mind-body connections to her Pilates clients, and encourages everyone, from beginners to the most avid athletes, to discover the rich benefits and endless challenges that Pilates offers.

Whitney Johnson

Whitney was introduced to Pilates at a young age as a supplement to her professional dance training; however, it wasn’t until she was diagnosed with a permanent spinal injury at 16 that she began to take Pilates more seriously as an integral restorative component to a healthy lifestyle. While studying at the University of California, Irvine, she was fortunate to have the opportunity to continue her Pilates education and it has been an important part of her life ever since. Pilates finally gave Whitney the opportunity to feel at home in her body after suffering from debilitating back pain for years and she is eager to guide you towards finding that same mind-body connection necessary for living a healthy, balanced life.

Whitney was initially certified in the Pilates Method at Lotus Pilates, LLC and has continually refreshed and expanded her knowledge of the method with well-known instructors such as Jay Grimes and Mejo Wiggin.
