Coronavirus Update #3

Dear Vie Clients,

Well, the situation is changing quickly (and frankly this all feels a bit unreal). After careful consideration and consultation with others, I’ve decided to close Vie beginning at 5:00 PM today until April 6th due to the spread of coronavirus.

This is an incredibly difficult decision. While non-essential business closings and quarantining haven’t been ordered yet, I know that each of us needs to make the choices we feel are in the best interest of our community. I believe that means closing Vie during this pandemic and quarantining the best we can.

We’re working furiously to find ways to keep serving you. We’re exploring options for virtual training, ways for Vie to provide equipment to clients to use at home, and more. Things are moving very quickly and I don’t feel like I have all the answers I want yet, but we'll keep you updated via these emails.

We're wishing you all good health, and looking forward to seeing everyone again as soon as possible.

Coronavirus Update #2

Dear Vie Clients,

We at Vie are implementing further steps to support "social distancing" at Vie. In order to minimize community spread of coronavirus, we should all work to maintain extra distance from one another.

Beginning tomorrow, Friday, March 13th, 2020, we will be indefinitely cancelling all downtown classes: Spinning, Barre, 4x7 Burn, CS 20/20, ViPR, Cardio Dance, HIIT, and Kettlebell. The downtown classrooms are not amenable to maintaining a distance of six feet from one another. Tower and Reformer classes at Arbor Hills will continue as the class sizes are smaller, the classrooms bigger, and we can easily support appropriate separation of clients.

This is not a step we take lightly, but we feel a responsibility to take it. We understand this will negatively impact many of your fitness routines. Vie will offer discounted private training packages to help make it easier for those class participants that want to continue fitness training downtown.

Together with our significantly ramped up cleaning protocols, we believe eliminating downtown classes continues to make Vie a very comfortable and responsible place for fitness and spa services. Especially now, maintaining fitness is important for immune systems and overall health. The space at both Vie locations now allow for significant distancing between clients.

Of course we look forward to re-opening downtown classes as soon as possible and will keep you up-to-date.

Stay healthy, all. Wash hands frequently, don't touch your face, and wipe down surfaces, please.

Coronavirus Update #1

Dear Vie Clients,

With coronavirus (COVID-19) blanketing the news, I’m sure you’re all very aware of concerns about how it may impact our community. I want to assure you that we at Vie are keeping up-to-date on the issue. We’re regularly reviewing the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) website’s interim guidance for businesses, and continually monitoring the State of Michigan and Washtenaw County Health Department guidance.

Our primary objective at Vie is to keep our community healthy. We have communicated specific mitigation practices to the entire Vie team, and also ask you to join us in our efforts. There are a number of things that we can all do at Vie together to minimize community spread of coronavirus:

  • At this time we are asking staff and clients who are well to please feel free to come to Vie and enjoy our fitness and spa services
  • If you are sick or have a fever, please do not come to Vie. If you had a fever (100.4 degrees or higher), please do not return to Vie until at least 24 hours after having a normal body temperature and being free of any symptoms. The Vie team is rigorously following the same procedure

  • We have increased the frequency of our thorough sanitizing protocols for disinfection of equipment and surfaces. Please do your part by wiping down equipment you use with our readily available sanitizing supplies before and after use.
  • Please cover your coughs and sneezes in your elbow, and minimize touching your face.
  • Wash your hands frequently with hot water for at least 20 seconds.
  • If you will be traveling, please review the CDC’s Traveler’s Health Notices.

The current status of coronavirus in Michigan is likely to change. I will keep you all up to date with Vie’s plans to respond as the situation evolves. We will be aggressive in doing our part to minimize community spread.

Thank you for being part of Vie, and for your attention to these measures as we all work to maintain a healthy community.
